HAAA HA HA HAAA HA HA!
Question: “How does the predation rate of humans compare with the predation rate of sea lions?”

    Answer: [....silence.][Long, confused, dumbfounded pause.]
[Finally, after very long silence...] “Well… uh… humans do not predate on salmon.”

HAAAA HA HA HAAA HA HA HA! Gee, Mr. Biologist guy, I can see you’re in no way influenced by political self interest. Why, of COURSE humans “do not predate on salmon.” (That is, unless you actually use the textbook definition of predation, which you should have learned in HIGH SCHOOL biology, much less through all those years of college. That is, when one animal kills another animal, usually to eat it. Which is, in fact, what humans are out there doing on the Columbia.) Only difference is, when sea lions prey on salmon, they eat the salmon and the entire biosystem benefits. When a human preys on a salmon, they take far more than they need, they remove it completely from the biosystem, and they often sell the bodies for profit. But any idiot who can’t recognize what predation is has no business calling himself a biologist.

Shows what kind of “experts” they have to stoop toward in order to get the stamp of approval for this travesty. No sane biologist would ever recommend or condone an attempt to save one species by killing off their natural predators. Not one. Only a barely educated apologist or a butt-kissing jerk who would say anything for a job would support such a thing. Only the kind of “biologist” who doesn’t even know what predation is.

Oh. And just to point out. In fact, here is how the human predation rate stacks up to the sea lion predation rate: Sea lions are taking about 2% of the run this year.

Humans are killing off 16% of the run this year.

    Hmmmm.

  3. Concerned about the mentality of these people says:

I can’t believe that the government and politicians would allow this. What is this world comming to?…and “It’s the Native’s that have rights to fish with their treaty???”….the sea lions have been around longer than any native on this earth to begin with…where’s their treaty??? Just because they don’t have a voice to speak and protest, doesn’t mean they don’t deserve to have equal rights. Glad to see that my tax dollars are going to such a great cause. Forget starving and homeless people and children in our country – get rid of the sea lions that are naturally eating salmon!!! Now there’s a great idea!

P.S – To “A Person” who commented above!! You couldn’t have said it better! Very well spoken! Thanks!

Have we lost all of our connection to what Mother Nature has blessed us with? I cant believe these people who are carrying this out can sleep at night! Don’t they have children and families that would see and discourage them from such a cruel and unjustified act? Yes, what is this world coming to? It isnt the world, its the moronic individuals in it, destroying it, and going along with such horrific acts against nature and our suffering earth and its creatures. Mankind, for the sake of the almighty greenback, has lost what we were so preciously blessed with-a Garden of Eden, and in the words of Amanda Shaw of Louisiana, I dont know why we want to tear it down to the ground!

Humans do not predate on salmon? The salmon jump into the fisherman’s boat and volunteer to be chopped up and turned into dinner? Yikes! Dead silence and dumbfounded look – priceless!
